2025 Scholarships

Essay contest on water conservation for seniors; $2,000 scholarship. Schools: Forsan, Grady, Sands, Stanton. MLA format, due April 1st.

The Permian Basin Underground Water Conservation District is proud to be sponsoring their annual scholarship essay contest for graduating seniors who are planning to attend college or trade school.

Those who are eligible to apply for the scholarship must attend one of the four schools in the PBUWCD’s district which includes: Forsan, Grady, Sands and Stanton High Schools. Each school will have one winner that will receive a $2,000 scholarship to the college or trade school of their choice.

The essays are due no later than April 1st by 5 pm. They must be submitted to the student’s school counselor or the Permian Basin UWCD office at 708 W. Saint Peter Street in Stanton, Texas. Mailing address for the office is:

Essays MUST be in MLA Format. If an essay doesn’t follow the required format, it will be automatically disqualified by the judges. The topic this year is as follows: IN A 1,000 WORD ESSAY, DISCUSS THE IMPORTANCE OF WATER CONSERVATION AND WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU.
