Texas Runs on Water (TRoW) is a first-of-its-kind statewide water campaign built on Texas’ strong sense of local pride. Led by the Texas Water Foundation (TWF), TRoW is working to address the state’s growing water  needs by inspiring all Texans to participate in a viral cultural movement that spurs action and conversation around water.

Texas is uniquely diverse, and so are the relationships with water across the state. The campaign is intentionally designed as an umbrella concept that allows communities to develop a localized campaign tailored to their local water priorities. The campaign equips partners with communications tools and resources to develop and establish these partner campaigns.

“The Texas Water Foundation believes that every Texan plays an important role in Texas’ water future. We pay attention to things we care about, and we invest in the things we value. Our connection to water, and how we value it, begins at the local level,” says Sarah Schlessinger, the CEO of the TWF. “That’s why we created a campaign that could be adapted by region, audience, and water use. Our hope is that our partners use the campaign as a vehicle to inspire awareness for the way water shapes their community and leads to that community investing in their water future.”
